So I was just telling my book club – we’re reading “White Fragility” again – that Washington’s market is SO problematic! Like, where are all the BIPOC-owned dispensaries? I asked to speak to the manager at Uncle Ike’s about this, and they just looked at me funny. Anyway, prices are still ridiculous, but I don’t mind paying extra if it’s organic, pesticide-free, and the budtender can tell me EXACTLY which farm it came from. I need to know my farmer’s pronouns, sweetie! The 37% tax is good because it funds education – I learned that at my racial justice cannabis workshop!

Value: $120-150/oz – I would NEVER buy this, who knows what’s in it!
Mid: $200-280/oz – Acceptable if it’s sun-grown by a women-owned farm collective
Top-shelf: $350-450/oz – Worth it for the story I can tell at Whole Foods!

Seattle: Everyone wants “elevated” experiences – I literally heard someone ask for “cannabis with notes of social consciousness”
Tacoma: More diverse market, but I don’t go there (for safety, you understand)
Spokane: They’re still buying regular weed like it’s 2015 – so behind!

Forward Look

We NEED more women-owned dispensaries – I’m starting a petition AND a Facebook group about it!
Mandatory diversity training for all budtenders – I’ve already drafted a curriculum!
Cannabis yoga studios are coming – I’m investing in three! Namaste and THC!

By the way, I’m starting a cannabis mom’s group called “Mindful Mamas Who Microdose” – it’s VERY exclusive, but you can apply! We meet at my house in Bellevue (the nice part) and we only consume organic, fair-trade edibles. Last week, I called the cops on someone smoking a joint outside because there were children present within a half-mile radius!
