Dominion Seed Company
Dominion Seed Company is not about chasing the latest hype. It is a mission to preserve the potency, essence, and “outlaw gumption” of the legendary strains that defined the craft. This is a genetic library dedicated to the “heirloom classics” from the 1970s and 80s, ensuring that the iconic Roadkill Skunk, Afghan, and Hash Plant lines are not lost to history.
At the heart of this mission is founder Duke Diamond, one of the most respected and “famous” breeders “representing the South”. His “passion for growing that can’t be tamed” and deep “love for the plant” have been proven not just by decades of cultivation, but by years of “sacrifice… during the war on drugs”. This is a brand built on a foundation of resilience and an unwavering commitment to the plant, forged through “legal hurdles” and prison terms that tested his dedication.
This dedication is guided by a simple, uncompromising philosophy: “Potency was always most important”. Dominion Seed Company’s work is characterized by a “steadfast commitment to preserving and enhancing cannabis genetics”, resulting in a catalog of robust, reliable, and “ass-stomping” strains.
To understand the dedication, you must first understand the story. Explore the tabs to discover the man behind the mission, the legendary genetics he has preserved, and the expert-level techniques he shares with the community.
“Our Story: An Unwavering Passion for the Plant
The story of Dominion Seed Company is the story of its founder, Duke Diamond. It is a narrative of resilience, sacrifice, and an authentic, lifelong “”love for the plant””.
The Outlaw Gardener: A Career from Age 12
For Duke Diamond, cannabis cultivation was not a hobby; it was a necessity. His career began in Virginia at around 12 years old, driven by a simple truth of prohibition-era reality: he “”felt safer growing it than buying it””. After planting his first seeds, his “”older cousins caught me, took me under their wings and pointed me in the right direction””.
This early start in “”the South””—a region not typically known for breeding—forced a different kind of innovation. Duke began ordering seeds from Amsterdam, specifically the foundational building blocks: “”Afghani, Skunk and Northern Lights x Skunk””. This “”outlaw gumption”” was the genesis of a lifelong obsession.
Forged by Necessity: “”Potency Was Always Most Important””
Duke’s breeding philosophy was forged by the high-stakes reality of his environment. His work was not just for connoisseurship; it was for survival. His goal was to create “”Real ass-stomping stuff!”” , and he quickly developed a competitive edge. “”We felt we could compete with California or anywhere else,”” he stated.
To do this, he focused on “”practical farmer’s-level selection”” (what he terms “”farmer shit””) to achieve the traits necessary for an outlaw grower: “”speed up flowering time, boost yields and make the best selections””. His “”Hash Plants were big, heavy yielders that finished up before the fall rains came in””. Above all, one rule guided every selection: “”Potency was always most important””.
The Price of Passion: Sacrifice & Resilience
Duke was active on online cannabis forums, sharing valuable information and helping countless people learn to grow and breed. This passion and visibility, however, came at a great cost.
In 2007, Duke was “”ratted on by an associate and busted by the DEA for growing, ultimately serving time in the Federal penitentiary””. His commitment to the plant was tested again in 2019, when he had to return to prison “”over an unfortunate bust for possession of a firearm as a felon””. This history is not hidden; it is the ultimate proof of his authenticity and “”sacrifice for the plant”” during the decades of prohibition.
The Comeback & The Founding of Dominion
In 2015, during the progression of legalization, the legendary MrSoul reopened Brothers Grimm Seeds. In a partnership of peers, he “”initially team[ed] up with Duke Diamond”” for the relaunch. This collaboration validated Duke’s status among the industry’s elite, but his own vision was calling. Duke soon “”left to begin his own seed company, Dominion Seed Company””.
After being “”released in 2022,”” Duke returned “”fresh out the joint”” with a singular focus: “”reviving Dominion Seed Company”” and sharing his life’s work with the community that had long awaited his return.

Dominion Seed Company: Duke Diamond’s Heirloom Cannabis Genetics
There are seed companies, and then there are legacies. Dominion Seed Company is the latter. Founded by Duke Diamond — one of the most respected cannabis breeders in the American South — Dominion is not chasing the latest hype strain or riding a trend. It is a mission: preserve the potency, character, and “outlaw gumption” of the heirloom genetics that defined serious cannabis cultivation in the 1970s, ’80s, and ’90s, and bring them forward into a new era with the precision and skill of a master breeder.
If you’ve been searching for Dominion Seed Company seeds that carry real genetic heritage — the kind of old-school Afghans, classic Skunks, and G13 lineages that most breeders have lost or diluted — you’re in the right place. Browse the full Dominion Seed Company catalog at Seeds Here Now and find the genetics Duke Diamond has spent a lifetime building.
The Story Behind Dominion Seed Company
Duke Diamond grew up in Virginia — a state with deep cannabis roots and access to some of the most powerful regional genetics in the country. He caught the growing bug young, starting at age 12 after his first experience with cannabis, reasoning it was safer to grow his own than to buy during prohibition. Guided by older mentors who knew the plant, he dove in headfirst and never looked back.
By the late 1990s and early 2000s, Duke was active on the early online cannabis forums, sharing hard-won cultivation knowledge, helping others dial in their environments, and trading genetics. He became known as one of the few serious breeders “representing the South” — a grower who had worked intensively with the legendary SSSC Skunk #1, Virginia Beach Afghani, G13, the 88 G13 Hashplant, and the Skelly Hashplant lines that defined the underground market of the late ’80s and ’90s.
His influence extended beyond growing. Duke helped Mr. Soul reboot the iconic Brothers Grimm seed company before eventually channeling his knowledge into his own brand: Dominion Seed Company. His appearance at the 2017 Emerald Cup caused a genuine stir in the industry — the skunky phenotypes he brought turned heads all weekend, with growers and breeders passing word through the event about the quality of Duke’s selections.
The path was not without obstacles. Duke faced serious legal consequences during the War on Drugs — an unwanted DEA visit in 2007, and a return to prison in 2019. He was released in 2022 and immediately refocused his energy on reviving Dominion Seed Company and releasing new genetics to growers who had waited years for his return. His story is a testament to the kind of unbreakable dedication to the plant that you can only find in a breeder who has truly paid a price for his craft.
Duke Diamond is recognized by peers for educating others about cannabis cultivation and was featured as Breeder of the Month. In the legacy cannabis community, peer respect is the highest award — and Duke has earned it many times over.
Dominion Seed Company’s Breeding Philosophy
Duke Diamond’s breeding philosophy can be distilled into one principle: potency was always most important. Not bag appeal. Not trending genetics. Potency, effect, and flavor — in that order.
Dominion Seed Company is built around a library of genetic lines that most breeders have abandoned: the Roadkill Skunk, old Afghani IBLs, ’88 G13 Hashplant, and original SSSC Skunk #1 crosses. Duke has maintained and worked these lines for decades, making careful selections for hybrid vigor, faster flowering, above-average yields, and — above all — that hard-hitting, couch-locking, full-body potency that modern commercial genetics often dilute for ease of growth or appearance.
His approach to cultivation is equally principled. Duke advises growers to first dial in their environment before chasing genetics. In organics, he emphasizes keeping soil microbes happy with proper moisture and temperature, feeding low and slow, never overwatering, and avoiding alfalfa or kelp after day 21 of flower to prevent grassy taste and an improper burn. This is the kind of detail-oriented thinking that separates a generational breeder from a hobbyist — and it shows in every pack Dominion releases.
What makes Dominion Seed Company seeds genuinely special is the combination of heirloom genetic preservation with careful, purpose-driven hybridization. Duke doesn’t cross strains to create novelty. He crosses them to enhance specific qualities — speed of flowering, resin density, terpene expression, or resilience — while keeping the soul of the original lines intact.

Dominion Seed Company’s Top Signature Strains
With over 48 strains documented in his catalog, Duke Diamond has built one of the deepest genetic libraries of any independent American breeder. Below are five cornerstone varieties that define what Dominion Seed Company is all about.
Screaming Eagle — The Flagship Heirloom
Genetics: G13 × (’88 G13 Hashplant × Afghani)
Type: Indica/Sativa Hybrid (Regular Seeds)
Flowering Time: 58–68 days (≈63 days average)
Yield: Above Average
Terpene Profile: Intense pine, citrus, occasional grape and candy notes, with hints of incense
Effects: Fast-hitting, hard to the head and body; melts away anxiety, body aches, and stress within minutes; not overly narcotic — leaves you in a happier, more functional state
Screaming Eagle is the heartbeat of Dominion Seed Company. Built on some of the most storied heirloom genetics in existence — G13 and ’88 G13 Hashplant crossed with classic Afghani — this strain delivers the “ass-stomping” potency Duke is famous for. Morphologically, it produces significant vertical stretch (3:1 ratio), strong branches ideal for SCROG, golf ball-dense buds, and stacked colas with early, heavy resin production. Pest and mold resistance run at a 7/10. Screaming Eagle is the parent of many other Dominion lines — it is the genetic cornerstone of the entire catalog.
Sangria Punch — Fruity Potency with Old-School Roots
Genetics: Killer Queen × Screaming Eagle
Type: Indica/Sativa Hybrid (Regular Seeds)
Flowering Time: 60–68 days (≈64 days average)
Yield: Above Average
THC: 19%–28%
Terpene Profile: Fermented fruit, tropical punch, intense late-flower sangria aroma
Effects: Hard-hitting heady punch with a deeply relaxing body effect and long-lasting high
Sangria Punch takes the Screaming Eagle’s legendary potency and crosses it with Killer Queen — a sativa-leaning strain known for its fruity, complex terpene profile. The result is a high-THC (up to 28%) indica/sativa hybrid that produces bushy, resin-coated plants with perfect stale-marshmallow-dense flowers. Plants double in size during flower, branch vigorously, and stack enormous colas. The aroma in late flower is unmistakable — intense sangria and tropical fruit punch. A staff favorite and perennial top seller. Check availability at Seeds Here Now.
Burnout Chem — Industrial-Strength Chem Line
Genetics: Chemdog-lineage indica/sativa cross
Type: Indica/Sativa Hybrid (Regular Seeds)
Flowering Time: 60–68 days (≈64 days average)
Yield: Medium–Medium High (up to 500–600g/m² indoors)
THC: 16%–24%
Terpene Profile: Dominant myrcene, pinene, and limonene; aroma of hot burnt rubber, asphalt, earthy pine, and citrus zest
Effects: Rapid cerebral euphoria transitioning to deep body relaxation; strong, red-eyed, flat-out stoned — great if you don’t want to think too much
Burnout Chem is the chem-head’s dream from Duke Diamond. The aroma — burnt rubber and asphalt with pine and citrus underneath — is like pit lane at a race track, and the smoke is thick and coating. Plants grow as manageable lateral/vertical bushes that double in size, stack nicely with tight nodes, and frost out in the final weeks with heavy gland production. With excellent pest (8/10) and mold (8/10) resistance, Burnout Chem is a reliable, heavy producer that punches well above its weight in effect. Available as feminized and regular seeds — check current stock at Seeds Here Now.
Skunkband V2 — Classic Skunk Meets Modern Headband
Genetics: Headband × Dominion Skunk
Type: Hybrid (Regular Seeds)
Flowering Time: ≈63 days (8–10 weeks)
Terpene Profile: Caryophyllene (spicy warmth), limonene (bright citrus), myrcene (earthy comfort)
Effects: Euphoria, uplifted spirits, heightened energy, enhanced focus, and tranquility
Skunkband V2 represents one of Duke Diamond’s most important missions: keeping the old SSSC Skunk #1 lineage alive in a modern hybrid context. Dominion Skunk itself is built on (Skunk VA Chemdog × SSSC Skunk #1) × (Skelly Hashplant × SSSC Skunk #1) — a meticulous construction that preserves authentic vintage skunk character. Cross that with the cerebral buzz of Headband and you get Skunkband V2: a strain that offers euphoric uplift, mental clarity, and the kind of classic skunk funk that’s nearly impossible to find anywhere else. This is the strain that turned heads at the 2017 Emerald Cup.
6 Mill — Heirloom Screaming Eagle Hybrid
Genetics: Local H × Screaming Eagle
Type: Indica/Sativa Hybrid (Regular Seeds)
Flowering Time: 56–63 days
THC: 20%–24%
Yield: Medium–Above Average
Terpene Profile: Pine, citrus, earth, skunk
Effects: Balanced relaxation and creative energy
6 Mill takes the legendary Screaming Eagle and pairs it with Local H — a regional Virginia strain carrying its own potent heirloom character. At 20%–24% THC with a 56–63 day flower cycle, 6 Mill is one of Dominion’s fastest-finishing, most practical regular seed options without sacrificing the hard-hitting effect profile the brand is known for. The pine-citrus-skunk aroma is classic Dominion — complex, dank, and unmistakably old-school. Buy 6 Mill seeds at Seeds Here Now — in stock now.

G13 Skunk (G13 × Basic Skunk) — 63-day flower; a direct G13 hybrid with classic skunk backing.
Delta Blues (G13 Hashplant × Screaming Eagle) — 61-day flower; a fast-finishing hashplant-forward cross ideal for indica lovers.
Freebird (Headband × Screaming Eagle) — 64-day flower; the cerebral Headband lifted by Screaming Eagle’s heirloom potency.
187 (88 G13 Hashplant P1 × Cinderella 99) — Available in feminized; a rare hybrid of vintage hashplant genetics and the legendary C99 line.
Dominion Seed Company predominantly releases regular cannabis seeds — a deliberate choice that preserves full genetic expression and gives serious breeders the male and female parents needed for their own projects. Select strains are available as feminized seeds for cultivators focused on production runs.

Growing Tips from Duke Diamond
Duke Diamond is as well known for sharing knowledge as he is for his genetics. Here are his core cultivation principles — the same ones he has shared on forums and in interviews for over two decades:
Dial in your environment first. Chasing elite genetics in a suboptimal environment is a waste of both. Get your temps, humidity, airflow, and light dialed before you drop premium beans.
Feed low and slow. Overfeeding is the number one mistake new growers make. More nutrients does not mean more yield — it means smaller, inferior harvests.
Don’t overwater. Let the medium dry between waterings. Roots need oxygen as much as they need moisture.
In organics, protect your microbes. Soil microbes are your silent workforce. Maintain proper moisture and temperature to keep them active.
Stop alfalfa and kelp after day 21 of flower. These inputs can cause grassy taste and improper burn in the final product if used too late in the flower cycle.
For Screaming Eagle and heavy feeders: Run high nitrogen and calcium pre-flower, maintain heavy calcium through week 7, add a magnesium/PK boost at week 7, and consider early PK/humic acid at days 12–14 for tighter nodes.
Duke’s advice reflects decades of real-world growing experience across indoor, outdoor, and greenhouse environments. It is practical, proven, and freely shared — because that’s the kind of breeder Duke Diamond is.

Dominion Seed Company is recognized by seasoned growers as a pillar of genetic preservation and uncompromising quality. Its reputation is built on these foundational “greatest hits.”
The Keeper of “Lost” Legends Dominion is synonymous with the preservation of foundational “heirloom classics”. Duke Diamond is one of the few breeders renowned for working with the “legendary varieties of the 1970s and ’80s,” including the most iconic and sought-after lines: Roadkill Skunk, Afghan, G-13, and Hash Plant.
The “Skelly” Hashplant Genetic Backbone The core of Dominion’s breeding program is built on a piece of cannabis history: the Skelly Hashplant (aka “The Puck”). This is a verified 1989 cut from Nevil Schoenmaker and The Seed Bank, originating as a “Clone Only PNW Hashplant” crossed to an NL1 and then backcrossed. This cut, and its verified sister “Cuddlefish Hashplant”, form the genetic backbone for many of Dominion’s most famous strains.
Signature Strains (Modern Heirlooms) Duke uses the “Skelly” backbone to create stable, potent hybrids that carry the torch of their legendary parents.
Granny Skunk: A celebrated line built from (Virginia Beach Afghani x Skelly Hash Plant x SSSC Skunk #1).
Local Skunk F3: A complex and renowned hybrid of (Original Diesel x (Cuddlefish HP x Sour Diesel IBL) x (Skelly Hashplant x SSSC Skunk1)).
Dominion Skunk: A potent fusion of (Chemdog x Skunk #1 x Skelly Hash Plant).
Burnout Chem: A “standout choice” and “heavy-hitting” genetic known for its potent effects and unique flavor.
The Breeder’s Promise: “Meets or Exceeds the Parents” Dominion Seed Company is guided by a simple, non-negotiable rule that defines its breeding philosophy. As growers in the community will attest, “Duke doesn’t sell a strain unless it meets or exceeds the parents”. This is the ultimate quality guarantee and the core of the brand’s trusted reputation.
Dominion Seed Company’s reputation is not built on competing for trophies. For many “kings” of the industry, the quality of the work stands on its own. As one forum member noted about top-tier breeders, “It’s an insult to your brand to compete… You won’t see any of the kings in this list… These companies all know they’re doing amazing”.
Dominion’s validation comes directly from the community, its peers, and its role as a cornerstone of genetic preservation.
Formal Recognition
Duke Diamond’s work and his commitment to sharing knowledge have been formally recognized by his peers. He is “recognized for educating others about cannabis cultivation” and has been featured as Breeder of the Month.
Peer-Reviewed: The “OG” Status
In the legacy cannabis community, peer respect is the highest award. Duke Diamond is widely regarded as a legend and a “hot shit” breeder who “gives a lot of support with his gear”.
Testimonials from other growers confirm his status:
“Skunk VA & Duke Diamond are the definition of OGs. I support the originals who sacrificed for years during the war on drugs. They grow for the love of the cannabis plant. They did it before it was out in the open.”
In the Hall of Fame Conversation
The High Times “Seed Bank Hall of Fames” exists to honor the “world’s best pot breeders” who create “great and unique strains that stand the test of time”. The inductees are celebrated for discovering and working with foundational lines like Tangie or Triangle Kush.
Duke Diamond’s entire career is a living embodiment of this principle. His “steadfast commitment” to preserving, documenting, and breeding with the original Roadkill Skunk, G-13, and Skelly Hashplant lines places him firmly in this same elite class of breeders who are protecting the “potency and essence” of cannabis history for the next generation.
“Section 1: Breeding Philosophy
Q: What is Dominion Seed Company’s core breeding philosophy?
A: It is a philosophy of uncompromising quality, guided by two simple rules. First, “Potency was always most important.” Second, there is a non-negotiable quality guarantee: “Duke doesn’t sell a strain unless it meets or exceeds the parents.” This ensures that every pack contains meticulously selected genetics that have been rigorously tested and proven to be “real ass-stomping stuff.”
Q: What is Duke Diamond’s approach to pheno-hunting?
A: Duke considers it an art form. In his words: “You’re looking for that one plant that has it all… It’s about creating a masterpiece—something that people will remember.” This meticulous attention to detail is why his genetic lines are so consistent and celebrated.
Section 2: Seed Types Explained
Q: What seed types does Dominion offer?
A: Dominion Seed Company is a “premier provider” of high-quality, heirloom-focused genetics, offering both Regular and Feminized seed lines.
Q: What is the difference between Regular, Feminized, and Autoflower seeds?
A: This is the most important choice for a grower, as it determines the outcome of your garden.
Regular Seeds
These are 100% natural and produce approximately 50% male and 50% female plants. They are essential for growers who wish to create their own new strains (breeding) or hunt for unique phenotypes and mother plants.
Feminized Seeds (Photoperiod)
These seeds are bred to produce 99.9% female plants. This removes the need to identify and discard males, making them the best choice for growers whose goal is a reliable harvest of flowers (buds). They require a change in the light cycle (to 12/12) to initiate flowering.
Autoflower Seeds
These seeds (typically also feminized) are genetically programmed to flower based on age, not a change in the light cycle. They are known for having the fastest grow time, often finishing in 10–12 weeks from seed. They are ideal for beginners, small spaces, or growers wanting multiple harvests per season.
Q: Which seed type is right for me?
A: It depends on your goal:
For Maximum Yields & Control: Choose Feminized (Photoperiod) seeds.
For the Fastest Harvest: Choose Autoflower seeds.
For Breeding Projects or Pheno-Hunting: Choose Regular seeds.
Section 3: Duke Diamond’s Grow Tips (“Dominion Tech”)
Q: What is Duke Diamond’s #1 tip for new growers?
A: Duke’s primary advice is to “first dial in your environment.” He also cautions growers to “go low and slow with the nutrients” and “Don’t overwater.” In his words: “When it comes to weed, everybody overdoes shit.”
Q: Does Duke have any specific nutrient advice?
A: Yes. He provides a critical expert-level tip for flowering:
“Avoid using alfalfa and kelp after day 21 of flowering to keep your plants from tasting like grass clippings and burning improperly.”
This is a common mistake that Duke helps growers avoid.
Q: What is the “Dominion Tech” soil philosophy?
A: “Dominion Tech” refers to Duke’s organic, living-soil cultivation philosophy. This approach was even developed into a formal Dominion Potting Soil Blend in collaboration with BuildASoil. It is a “potent” soil with over 20 ingredients designed to be “kept and reused for a lifetime.” Duke’s philosophy is not about “feeding the plant” with bottled nutrients, but about “feeding the microbes” in the soil, which he calls your “workers.”
Section 4: The Science of “Skunk” (Advanced)
Q: What is the secret to the “skunk” aroma in your strains?
A: The “skunk” in Dominion’s strains is not just a name; it is the result of breeding for specific chemical compounds. Duke Diamond has spoken at length on this, diving into the importance of sulfur. He explains that providing “high dosages of sulfur throughout the veg and bloom cycle” is a critical factor. This allows the plant to produce the volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs) that are scientifically linked to the potent, room-clearing “skunk aroma so many of us know and love.”
Section 5: Germination & Support
Q: What is the recommended germination method?
A: Most breeders recommend the paper towel method for its reliability and the ability to track progress.
Steps:
Dampen a paper towel (moist, not soaking wet).
Place your seeds on one half of the towel.
Fold the other half over the seeds.
Place the towel in a sealed Ziploc-style bag or between two plates to retain moisture.
Store in a warm, dark place (70–85°F or 21–29°C).
Check daily. The taproot should appear in 24–72 hours.
Q: What is the germination guarantee?
A: We partner with breeders like Dominion Seed Company who provide high-quality, viable, and authentic genetics. We expect high germination rates and stand by our commitment to your success. If you have any issues, please contact customer support for assistance.”
