Strain Types
Basic Cannabis Strain Types
Each seed gives birth to a plant, but there are countless varieties with their own distinct differences.
There are hundreds, if not thousands of different cannabis strains today with more popping up on a constant basis.
But all varieties can be grouped into these three main categories:
Sativa Dominant
They are also known to grow better in warmer climates and have an energetic buzzy effect when consumed. The color red is often used to symbolize Sativa varieties.
Indica Dominant
They are also known to grow better in cooler climates and have a calming depressant effect when consumed. The color blue is often used to symbolize Indica varieties.
Hybrid Varieties
In other words, the final product could have the long leaves of a Sativa and the short flowering period of an Indica. Effects when consumed vary as well from one Hybrid to the next depending on genetic expression.
The color green is often used to symbolize Hybrid varieties.
High CBD
They’re typically preferred by consumers who are extremely sensitive to the side effects of THC (e.g., anxiety, paranoia, dizziness).
