Obsoul33t Genetics Group built this pairing to explore what happens when you take established Humboldt Diesel genetics and cross them into Orange Sour Dub, a clone-only strain that never made it into the major seed databases. This is not a marketing cross. It is a working breeder's project. The goal was straightforward: diesel fuel aromatics with citrus undertones. Whether they nailed it depends on which phenotype you run.
What Each Parent Brings
Humboldt Diesel comes from California's established diesel lineage. You know what you are getting: fuel-forward aroma, dense structure, reliable vigor. It is a proven parent in crosses because it does not disappear into the background.
Orange Sour Dub is the variable. It is a clone-only strain with unknown lineage, which means Obsoul33t kept it private or it never got documented. What we know is that Obsoul33t used it for several crosses but never released Orange Sour Dub seeds themselves. That tells you it was either too unstable to stabilize or too valuable to share. Either way, you are working with genetics that stayed in one breeder's vault for years.
The Phenotypes
With a clone-only parent and an established diesel line, expect variation. Some plants will lean diesel-heavy with fuel aroma and tight internodes. Others will express more of the Orange Sour Dub side, which based on the name likely carries citrus and sour notes. Neither is wrong. Both are useful if you are hunting for a keeper.
The cross was not stabilized into an IBL or F1 line with locked traits. This is F1 or early generation work, which means you are doing the selection. That is not a weakness if you know what you are looking for.
Finding The Keeper
Start with structure. Humboldt Diesel should give you compact, manageable plants. If you get tall, stretchy growth, that is the Orange Sour Dub side expressing. Not bad, just different. Watch for resin production early. Heavy trichome coverage at week three or four is a good sign.
Aroma is your main filter. Run a few plants. The ones that smell like fuel with citrus backing are the keepers. The ones that smell like straight citrus or straight fuel are still viable, but they are not the cross at its best. Cut and clone the plant that gives you both.
Growth pattern matters. Look for plants that finish branches evenly, do not require constant pruning, and do not show stress under normal feeding. Obsoul33t's work tends toward stability, so you should not see major deficiency issues or weird mutations.
In The Garden
Flower time is unconfirmed. Expect 8 to 10 weeks based on the parents, but run your own timeline. Humboldt Diesel tends toward the shorter end. Orange Sour Dub's actual timing is unknown. Feed them like you would a diesel cross: moderate nitrogen through veg, phosphorus and potassium in flower, watch for calcium uptake. They should not be finicky.

No medical claims here. Diesel crosses tend toward heavy, grounded effects. Orange Sour Dub's profile is unconfirmed, so you are running the cross blind on that side. What you get depends on which phenotype you select and how you grow it. That is why finding the keeper matters.

These seeds came from my personal vault. Acquired between 2012 and 2020. Stored correctly. Never shelved or sold publicly. Set aside as breeding stock and genetic preservation, not retail inventory. Obsoul33t Genetics never released these seeds themselves. I held them because the genetics were solid and the source was reliable.
